Perkembangan dunia yang semakin kompleks menuntut studi Hubungan Internasional (HI) untuk terus beradaptasi dan memperluas cakupan kajiannya. Jika pada masa awal disiplin ini berfokus pada negara dan isu keamanan tradisional, maka dinamika global kontemporer menunjukkan bahwa HI kini mencakup berbagai isu lintas sektor yang saling terhubung, mulai dari ekonomi, lingkungan, gender, hingga transformasi teknologi. Buku Diversitas Isu SDGs dalam Hubungan Internasional hadir untuk menggambarkan keragaman tersebut dengan menempatkan Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs) sebagai kerangka penting dalam memahami isu-isu global saat ini. Buku ini mengajak pembaca melihat bagaimana hubungan internasional tidak lagi dapat dipahami hanya melalui perspektif “high politics” seperti keamanan dan kekuatan negara, tetapi juga melalui isu-isu pembangunan dan kesejahteraan manusia yang semakin relevan dalam agenda global. Melalui berbagai pembahasan tematik, buku ini menyoroti keterkaitan antara globalisme dan regionalisme, transformasi konsep keamanan internasional, dinamika kerja sama ekonomi regional seperti ASEAN, serta munculnya isu-isu baru seperti diplomasi energi, keamanan manusia, dan ekonomi digital. Selain itu, buku ini juga mengangkat perspektif kritis dalam studi HI, termasuk isu gender dan ketimpangan kekuasaan dalam sistem internasional. Pembahasan mengenai transisi energi, perubahan iklim, dan tantangan pembangunan berkelanjutan menunjukkan bahwa berbagai krisis global tidak hanya melibatkan negara sebagai aktor utama, tetapi juga memerlukan kerja sama lintas aktor dan lintas kawasan.
